Users can publish a level and by subscribing to the mod via the steam page, players will then see it show up available for play. The game has a fully featured track editor directly integrated with Steamworks. All tracks and cars can be used, but no money may be earned. Online play of up to four players is allowed. The angle of the game changes with each version of the track despite the actual track layout being the same. Each level has a theme, ranging from urban cityscape with paved roads and sharp inclines to steam uphill/downhill dirt tracks. The game consists of an advertised 40 tracks, however, these are based on a repetition of the same core tracks multiplied by day/night and forward/backward races. Winning races in career mode (and only career mode) nets you cash to use on upgrades, which include top speed, number of boosts, acceleration, and handling. Completing each of these cups gives access to themed car relative to the franchise.

With up to six cars in a race, the goal is simple, cross the finish line first.
